Some Christmas cheer with E.A.D Designs

Akkk... I have had these Christmas cards and tag completed for weeks now and somehow they just got lost on my scrappy pile. Better late then never, right? I used the Christmas Sentiments 2 set for the wording on the cards and added the cute little gingerbread man from the House of Ginger set. Each only took a matter of minutes to create.

Say It With Letters'Peace' sign

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! We did. It was quiet, but nice. I wish I would have been able to enjoy the season more, but it is what it is.

Here is my most recent project from Say It With Letters; a peace sign. I had a lot of ideas for this one but ended up going with a floral theme. It's such a fun shape and the possibilites are endless. Be sure to check out the dozens of other great shapes and alphas!

"Traditions" blog hop time with E.A.D Designs

It's blog hop time with E.A.D Designs and the theme this month is "Traditions". A tradition around our home is making Gingerbread Houses. I dug into my photo stash and pulled out these photos of our youngest making her first gingerbread house. I used the 'House of Ginger' set in brown on this layout. (Sorry about the awful angle/crop, but it's been snowing and the lighting has not been good.)

There is a $10.00 E.A.D Designs Gift Certificate up for grabs today!
Just visit all the DT's Blogs and leave them some love then hop back to Emily's blog and leave her some love, too.

Snowflakes from Say It With Letters

Hello! Here is my most recent project from 'Say It With Letters'; a trio of snowflakes. We've already had several inches of snow and I love it! These snowflakes are going to grace my decor for months to come. :)

I put several layers on my snowflakes. I started with a lime green coat of paint on the wood snowflake shapes, then brushed over that with a carribean blue color. Once they were dry I added some patterned paper to the front. I added silver ink to the edges and added some embossing powder and heat embossed areas on the front for dimension. I really disliked how it looked at this point... it was nothing like I had envisoned, so I brushed white paint over the front and sidesto tone it down. I finished with a few spritz's of Glimmer Mist, some glitter and I was pleasantly surpirsedwith the outcome. I finished them off some embellishments, twine and bells. They look so much better IRL. I have been wanting to try to be more "artsy" with someof my projects and I just love how these turned out. I think this is one of those projects that I am most proud of. :) It's always a great feeling to have something that you once thought was a hopeless mess turn into something you never imaged. (and I still cannot beleive that I created these. lol)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a beautiful Thanksgiving!
Take care,
Rae

easy ornaments featuring E.A.D Designs rub ons

Just a quickie today showcasing 2 really easy ornaments I created using the 'Fun in the Snow' rub ons from E.A.D. Designs. I purchased some plain glass ornaments from Michael's, applied the rub on, added a few details and that's it. Eash took just a few minutes. There are a few crinkles in the rub ons, but this is due to them being so thick... just smooth out the best you can.

(There are snowflakes on both sides. It was a big challenge to get a decent picture.)

I hope your week is off to a great start!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
Here are two layouts I created using the gorgeous 'Twilight' collection from Pink Paislee. I only have a few scraps left now after creating the banner and these layouts.

It's been a crazy week around here. Kenny was sick on Monday and Tuesday and come to fnd out that he has shingles! They are all over his neck as well as inside his mouth and throat. Crazy! He's feeling better now that he's on meds for it, but that sure wasn't what we thought he had.

I woke up with a huge, and I mean huge swollen face on Wednesday morning. It seriously looked like I had a baseball sticking out of my mouth. It came out of the blue and boy was it painful. It turned out to be an abcess, so I had minor oral surgery yesterday morning and now I feel human again. It only looks like I have an egg there now. lol When I looked in the mirror and saw the elephant man, I couldn't help but have a new empathy for anyone who has to live with something like that daily. I had to get a prescription filled and anyone who knew me literally gasped when they saw me, but I have to wonder about those who didn't know me. What were they thinking? Not that it matters because it is what it is, but I still wonder. All of us had a few good laughs thoughat my expense, but there was nothing I could do so we might as well make the most of it.
Anyway, I hope you have a safe and fun Halloween!
Take care,
Rae
