pics from the week and SPCC #14

Hi everyone! It was a long week... I am not used to working until 10PM, let alone several nights in a row. I was exhausted. Fortunately I had yesterday and today off to rest and just catch up on things around the house. I washed all the drapes, I vaccumed the ceilings and windows and heaters. I did several loads of laundry. The weather was perfect, in the 70's, and that along with a fresh clean house made me so happy! Today was another gorgeous day in the mid 80's and I sat outside and read. I also scrapped, and I will share these projects in the near future.

Here are some pics... it was a busy week around here with Ashlyn's 10th birthday (9/9; she was born on 9/9/99... how cool is that?!)) and the first day of school. I cannot believe how much Skye has grown, and this picture of Emily, Skylar and Meghan on the first day of school. I didn't get a picture of Ashlyn since she hasn't started school just yet. Hopefully next week. I have had her working on workbooks and reading and other schoolish things in the meantime. I must admit that it's really quite nice to not have to worry about making sure she is up and dressed and ready for school. She actually wakes up, takes her pills and goes straight to work on her workbooks. She takes a quick break for breakfast and then goes back to work. She has also spent more time reading. I am sure every day won't be this wonderful, but I do not miss having to get her off to school.
Emily is a freshman, Skye is in the 8th grade, and Meghan is a senior:

Here's Ashlyn posing by her cute little poodle cupcake cake. She's not supposed to have sweets, so she was thrilled to have this cute cake for her special day. We celebrated with some family on Monday afternoon since we had to work on her birthday.

Here is what I saw when I got home from work on Tuesday night when I went to give Ashlyn a kiss goodnight. I think Charlie needs his own bed. lol!

I am such a slacker...
This should have been posted on Monday, but I haven't been on the computer much at all this week. It's for SPCC #14. This was a challenge for me since I am not really into this shade of blue or grey for that matter, but these pics worked out well.

If you are ever stuck or in need of some inspiration, these color combos are great! I hope you'll play along... there are also other great challenges on the blog as well, so check those out, too.
I am off to go read. I have been taking more time to read lately and my mind feels so free from clutter.
Take care and have a fabulous weekend!
Rae
