Here is my layout for this weeks color challenge on the SPCC blog.
The color combo this week is pretty, but I struggled a bit with the blue. I am just not into navy blue or blues similar to it, so I used it sparingly.
Here is the combo this week and my layout is shown above:
Things are slowly coming along with the K12 program. It's AWESOME! and I love the freedom to work at our own pace and really dig into the things Ashlyn is struggling with. She missed SO MUCH school last year and is struggling, but I do know that even though we are not making the progress I would have liked, she is learning and that is golden. Math and Literature are her area's of weakness so I have been spending extra time working with her. She understands what she is reading, yet finds it difficult to express in writing, so we are woking hard at that. Math has always been a struggle, but she's a trooper and is working hard to try to understand. We are getting ready to wrap up our first Math unit and I cannot tell you how excited I am about the next one because it should be fairly easy for her and I am hopeful that we can double up on most of the days and bust this unit out. Today we completed 2 math lessons and although it was time consuming, we both felt pretty good.
I will add that yesterday was one of those days where I seriously questioned what on earth I was thinking in doing this. lol I just put the books up and we did our own thing and that seemed to make things a whole lot better.... that and a good nights rest.
She is having some more issues with her colitis (well, I should say "non-specific" colitis at this point). She has missed a few of her pills with being sick and me working and it's affecting her. It really makes me wonder how things are going to go in December when there is a trial period for her to go off the meds for 3 weeks. Yikes. I will just have to hope and pray that everything goes well for her, but that's still about two months out so I am trying not to think about it. Not a good time of year to be sick and having a dr. 5 hours away.
Well I am off to bed. Take care,
Rae
You are still doing amazing things by the sounds of it Raechelle! I hope all goes well for Ashlyn, and do take care of yourself as well :-)
