you make my heart flutter banner

This is the banner I created for Emily. She likes butterflies so I created it for her with that in mind, and she loved it!

and a card:
the card is very plain, but I ran out of time... lol

pp and stickers are from Fancy Pants, the felt and paper-ish flowers are MM. Twine is from The Twinery.

Have a great weekend!

My February Memorable Seasons work

I still have two banners to share- I'll get to those in a few days (I still need to edit the pics and I don't have the time to do that right now). They were a smashing success! I got big hugs and multiple thank you's, but the smiles were what I loved most. Ahhh- those pure happy full of delight smiles- that makes my heart burst with joy. There is no better feeling than bringing a bit of sunshine to your precious babies (even if they are teenagers).

This is my first month as a design team member for Memorable Seasons and the kit I was sent to work with was the Bo Bunny Snowfall collection. It was funny because ALL my kids said the same thing about the papers- that they thought it was odd I was working with something so different than what they usually see me work with, even though we all agree that the papers are pretty. They all gave the A-OK on the finished product, though. lol

Here is the kit I received:

Here are my layouts: notice how two of them are titled 'Snow Girl'? I didn't even notice that until I tried to save the second layout with the same title. I guess that was all that I could come up with at the time. heehee

(this snow girl layout was created as a "lift" from a layout of the Member Of The Month, Dria)

this layout was created for the 2/16 (today's) challenge: the challenge is to create a layout using a block design. You can find all the details in the forum as well as check out the other team member challenges.

And lastly I have a banner! lol I am addicted I tell ya!

One more thing before I sign off- Memorable Seasons is going to have our first online crop of 2012. It will be a weekend full of great challenges and fun games!

The fun will begin on Friday Feb 24th with some challenges and games. But just between you and I- there are going to be a couple of pre-crop challenges. ;) Check out the forum for more details.
I'd love to see you come join in the fun!

I woof you banner

Happy Valentine's Day! Each year I make something for the girls and this year I decided to create banners for them. Today I will share Ashlyn's (which I made back in December). She LOVES dogs and when I saw this adorable circle dog head tags from Pretty Little Studio, I knew just what I was going to use them for. I love how this banner turned out and cannot wait for her to see it!

and I made a coordinating card:
supplies:
Kraft cs: Recollections
pp: Fancy Pants Designs- Love Story collection
dog die cut circles: Pretty Little Studios
chipboard letters: Li'l Davis and Pressed Petals
doilies: Wilton
metal: MM
small alpha stickers: MM
other: ribbon, dmc floss, paint, and assorted buttons
twine: The Twinery
I'll share what I created for Skylar and Emily soon. Have a fantastic day!

Going to be pubbed and some layouts

Woot! I was tickled pink when I checked my inbox after work Saturday and found a submission request for the July 2012 Create magazine! The wooden butterfly set that I had shown just a few days ago was picked up. It's been nearly two years since I have had a print pub which makes it even more exciting! I haven't submitted to this magazine ever, so that's even cooler. Maybe I'll get lucky and one of my layouts will get picked up one day.

Anyway, I really don't have a lot to share, but I have been creating. Here are two that I can. They are both for the monthly challenges at Memorable Seasons. This first one was created for Tami's color challenge (although I did tweak it and added some blue which was not in the color scheme):

and this was created for Audrey's "LOVE" challenge:

These are just two of the challenges posted this month. There are more to come, as well as a crop coming up soon, so head on over to the Memorable Seasons forum, introduce yourself- tell them Raechelle sent you, and jump on in! It's a friendly group and you'll feel right at home.

Have a beautiful week!

SIWL- beautiful butterflies

I have a thing for butterflies- especially when I am creating with paper. I use them a lot on my layouts and have created several banners with butterflies as the base. I was delighted when I got these wonderful goodies from Say It With Letters to play with! I knew immediately that I wanted them to have a shabby, romantic feel to them. I love how they turned out and beleive it or not, these were done in just a couple of hours- most of the time going to painting and stitching. I am going to put them up in my scrappy room as soon as I decide to commit to hanging things on the wall- lol.

You can purchase the set (or other fun shapes) here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/91321454/butterfly-collection-mdf-unfinished-wood

and you must go to the blog http://sayitwithletters.blogspot.com/ and see how the other girls used this set- their work is truly gorgeous!!! I love the different ideas they have used!

I hope you have a beautiful day!

LCTS #118 and a couple of other recent layouts

It's a few days late, but here is the most recent sketch from Let's Capture These Sketches (sketch #118):

And my layout:
I've been wanting to create with these funny pics for years now, and this sketch was the perfect inspiration for them.

You have to check out the layouts that the other amazingly talented ladies created with this sketch! You can find them here, and don't foget to upload your take to this fun sketch!

These layouts were the last two that I created for the Jan. sketch-a-thon over at the Memorable Seasons site. I managed to get to 15 of the 20 sketches which isn't too bad. I would have loved to get to all of them, but life just got in the way. I did a lot of scrapping last month though- maybe even a personal best!

here is my take on sketch 17:
and here is sketch 12:

I'll be back soon with more layouts to share. Until then, take it easy! :)
