a {late} Valentine's project

Hello! Today I am sharing a Valentine's Day project I made for Skylar who is stationed in Bahrain. I generally make a little something for each of my girls for Valentine's Day, but this year the only one I managed to create something for was Skylar, and that is because I made it in early January and mailed it out with her birthday box. I had the best of intentions to create for my other children, however injuring my shoulder made it impossible. I'll make it up to them next year. ;)

These little cuties made her day and she has them hanging around her mirror so she can see them everyday. I just adore this collection and it made these so fun and easy to create.

supplies:

it's a celebration {card}

Hi all! I haven't been around because I fell a couple of weeks ago and injured my right shoulder. It's feeling much better now after some rest which I am immensely thankful for. It was a rough go for several days and I am ready to push that behind me.

I had colored this image for the TCBJ Birthday Blog Hop featuring CDD which was last weekend, but before I could complete it, I hurt myself so I had to forgo my participation. I completed this card yesterday and am sharing it today.

I printed several of this adorable Little Lovelies Mouse Cake Peeker Digi Stamp because I knew I would be building it in layers. I colored the mouse and left it as the base. I fussy cut all the icing and added some cream colored puff paint. The cake was also fussy cut, colored and added to the base image as well as the icing pieces. I did the same with the party hat. The extra time it took was well worth it.

hedge over heels {card}

Hi friends! :) I am back today sharing another card I created with some of the new release products from Craftin Desert Divas and some Distress Ink.

The background was an unexpected pleasant outcome. I have a ton to learn about creating blended ink backgrounds, but instead of trashing it, I embraced the mistakes and added more, which thankfully I was able to replicate. lol I think the end result is fun and I love it!

I stamped, colored and then fussy cut these darling hedgehog stamps and popped them up with some foam tape for dimension. I put a bit of thread underneath them and added a few of the True Love sequins.

Craftin Desert Divas: Lovies Stamp Set,  Fancy Stitched Label Dies, and True Love Sequins
Ranger Distress Ink

sending hugs {card}

Today I am sharing a card I created using some stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink. I bought this set a little over a year ago when Skye was in Boot Camp, and only used it once, so I decided to dig it out and give it another go.

I love the colors on this card. I am not much of a golden yellow girl, but this tear strip was the perfect pop of color for this one.

kissy fishes {card}

Last week I picked up a few of the new release stamps and sequins from Craftin Desert Divas and made a couple of cards. I had a lot of fun playing with gelatos and watercolors to create this water background. As you can see, I painted both the front and inside of the card. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the fish. Then finished off with a funky scalloped border cut from a die.

white card base and cardstock
Fuse tool
gelatos, watercolor pencils and paints

pink boots

Happy February! (This is one of two posts I am sharing today) This layout was based on the newest Make it Monday No. 53 sketch which went live today on The Memory Nest Blog. I struggled to pull this together, but once I decided to add some pink ink to the background and the bright flowers it came together- even exploded, but you can still see the bones of the sketch.

This girl was an early walker- she took her first steps at 7 months and was a full-fledged walker when her mama got her these adorable boots when she was barely 9 months. It's tough to take photos of a baby in motion, but these turned out pretty well. :)

Don't forget to check out the sketch and upload your take on it. You can also see the fabulous work from the team as well. Just head on over to The Memory Nest blog for all the details.
