you make my heart happy

I am sharing this layout I created using the Simple Stories Bloom & Grow Page Kit from the July Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom.

I sure miss this sweet baby girl. I am so thankful for facetime, but it's not the same as being there with her. Its been 4 long months since I was last able to kiss her sweet face and hug her. Some days are easier than others, but life goes on and while I wish I could keep all my children/grandchildren with me, I cannot. She is doing well and that is what is important.

soaking up the moment

I dug way back for these photos- please excuse the awful quality of them. Sometimes you have to scrap the "crappy" photos because the memory is what is important.

This layout was created using the Make it Monday No. 65 sketch from The Memory Nest.

supplies:
pp: Elle's Studio and Fancy Pants Designs (using July kits from The Scrap Room)
wood: Elle's studio and Simple Stories
twine
enamel dots: I made them from Perler beads :)
puffy sticker: Elle's Studio
mist: gold- Bo Bunny, yellow- Shimmerz

This is the third sketch this month- head over to the TMN blog to see the sketch, what the team created, and how you can play along to enter a fun prize.

a summer story {layout}

I have the honor of being the Guest Designer for The ScrapRoom this month, and today I am going to share a layout I created using this Elle's Studio Page Kit from the July 2016 Flavors of the Month kit. (and yes, this is also a slightly delayed post. There will be several more posts over the next two weeks.  ;) )

I loved this kit! This is my favorite layout that I created with this great kit.

For the details visit this post on The ScrapRoom blog. :)

Tune in tomorrow for another layout using one of the awesome July TSR kits!

whale of a tale {card}

I have been so neglectful in maintaining my blog for all of my projects, so for the next two-ish weeks I am going to focus on catching up to several projects that are recent, but a bit older.

Today I will start with a card that I created for Perfect Paper Crafting early last month (there are 6 of them in this particular series).

For all the details of this card you can visit this post on the Perfect Paper Crafting blog.

Hello {card} and Smile {box}

Hello! :) I am a few days late with this post, so please excuse my tardiness. Ashlyn had surgery on Wednesday and ended up being unexpectedly admitted until Friday evening. That's my girl- always keeping us on our toes. ;) She is resting at home now and feeling much better.

Onto the fun stuff- I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as a Guest Designer for Trendy Twine! My month will be September, so stay tuned for some fun twine projects.

Until then, here are two projects I created using the Totally White Bakers Twine (it's on sale so snag it up!).

I cut dozens of strips of twine and glued them to a piece of cardstock. I added the die cut piece on top and then adhered to a card base. A little time consuming, but the end result was well worth it.

Hello card supplies:
Totally White Bakers Twine- Annie's Paper Boutique
cardstock and card base: Hobby Lobby
patterned paper: Simple Stories
sticker: American Crafts
Die: Tim Holtz
sequins: Craftin Desert Divas

Smile box supplies:
Totally White Bakers Twine- Annie's Paper Boutique
box: Petaloo
flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts and Michael's
green pp leaves (I cannot recall)
sticker: Pebbles
enamel dots: Simple Stories

You can see the other guest designers as well as their fabulous projects by visiting the Trendy Twine blog.

WOW look at that

Happy 4th of July!
It's the first Monday in July which means it's time for a new sketch from The Memory Nest. Make It Monday No. 63 is live and it's a fun one!
This month there will be 4 sketches, one each week.

I splurged last month and purchased a Brother Scan N Cut 2, which is what I used to cut the arrows (my first time using it). I have been wanting a cutting machine for years and finally took the plunge. I am so excited about all the fun new things I am going to be able to do with it.

Here is my layout for this awesome sketch:

supplies:
cardstock: Coredinations
pp: Simple Stories (a kit from The Scrap Room)
stickers: Arctic Frog, My Mind's Eye, and Jillibean Soup
dies: Tim Holtz
Mists: Shimmerz and OA

Go check out the first awesome sketch for the month as well as the fabulous work from the team by heading to The Memory Nest blog!
