SID DT call

Hi everyone. The past two weeks have just been a big blur. Ashlyn had 6 Dr. appts last week and has 5 this week. As if that isn't enough, Skylar officially started the process to join the Navy on Friday night and there has been something everyday. I have barely had time to breathe, let alone create. I am itching to play with paper- hopefully this weekend will be free and clear so I can do so. :)

Stick it Down is having a DT call. You really should check it out and apply. You only need to create one layout (or card) per month. There is a new sketch each week ranging from single page layouts to cards and even a double page sketch each month. For all the details click here.

Prom, Easter projects, and a fun new challenge site

Hi! The past few days have been crazy busy. Bear with me, this post is going to be sort of a catch up, if you will.
Skylar's prom was Saturday evening. Here she is looking absolutely stunning! (I'm not partial or anything *wink*). This is not the final version and I did not get any with her and her date as we had a funeral to attend, but thankfully we got to at least see her. :)

This sweet girl graduates in a few short weeks. Time sure has flown by. *sniff*

Here are a few Easter goodies I whipped together while Ashlyn's teacher was here on Friday. I always make the girls something special for each Holiday, however this year has been really off and I haven't made them anything, so this was a big deal.

I used 3 Birds for both projects.

Lastly, I want to share a new challenge site with you. Tammi Bennett, who was the previous owner of the My Scraps & More store and sketch blog, is launching a new challenge blog on May 1st called Scrap & Play. There are going to be all kinds of  fun challenges, so head on over to check it out! She is also having a DT call- you can find all the details here

Until next time, take care! :)

I was invited last month to join the Stick it Down team and I accepted. I am on the single page 2 team, which means that I will have a layout every third Tuesday of the month. I would love to see you play along!

maisy

Hi! We had such a productive weekend, got a lot of things done around the house, especially yesterday when we spent a much of the day cleaning up the front yard. We raked the leaves that were remaining from Fall, cleaned all the dead stuff from the flower beds, edged the yard, pulled some pesky weeds, mowed andadded some Weed-n-Feed and swept along the curb. We also filled all the bird feeders. I love living on a corner lot, but it is twice the work keeping it neat and clean. At the end of the day it's amazing how a little goes a long way, and I feel so productive and clean- if you know what I mean. My body is screaming at me today though. Every time I move something pops or cracks. Oh the joys of aging. lol

I made some time to scrap today. I wanted to give this very cool sketch from The Memory Nest a try. I found it intimidating at first, but once I got an idea, I ran with it and absolutely love the end result. The twist for the sketch was to do something you have never done before or outside your comfort zone. I picked the comfort zone- the photos are at an angle, which is something I rarely do. It worked out well for this sketch. I added a few more blocks to the bg, but i think it balances out nicely.

HOME banner

I cannot believe that I didn't post this yesterday- this is my first project as a design team member for Clear Scraps. :) I used to make banners all the time, but it has been awhile. I miss making them, so expect more. *wink*
Here is the full banner, however you can find more detailed images by visiting my Clear Scraps blog post featuring this banner here.

I cannot wait to share another project I created next week.
Thanks for stopping by today. :)

2day and two cards

Hi all! :) I am catching up today. I started a new job last week and although I only work 4 hours each day, it is an adjustment.

As promised last week, here is my April Guest Designer challenge on the sketches4all site. I provided a list of 12 things to pick and chose from. I do hope you will join my challenge over there, you can find it here. :)

There is also a Spring is in the Air challenge going on right now through midnight, April 16th on the s4a site. There are seven challenges, you only need to participate in three to be entered in for a prize.

My challenge is challenge #7, create a card using any type of flower- simple enough, right? Here is a card I created for this challenge.

I hope to see you play along with any of the above challenges. :)

remember the moment

Not sure how I feel about this layout. I like it well enough, but I decided not to put a title on it and I think it's a bit bland. It probably doesn't help that I have been working on this for 5 days as my scrappy time has been slim this week. Oh well, as I have said before, they cannot all be our favorites, right?

I used sketch #73 from the My Scraps & More Sketches blog.  I am also entering this into Stacy H-W's April stash challenge on sketches4all.

Speaking of challenges, I totally forgot to post my s4a April Guest Designer challenge here. I will have to do that tomorrow.

explore

Hello! I am excited to have been asked to be the April guest designer on the sketches4all site. This layout was created for the April sketch challenge, "Anything goes" featuring a fantastic Pagemaps sketch. I had such a great time playing along with this challenge and I do hope you will join in the challenge (click here), as well as the other challenges this month. I will also be hosting a challenge for the month, which I will post later.
