Reach for the Stars

Today I am sharing a layout I created using the 12" Stars Mascil. Our beautiful daughter, Skylar graduated High School June 7th and I am so proud of her!

First I sprayed Silver irRESISTible Color Texture Spray from Imagine Crafts using the Mascil onto white cardstock. Once the mascil was clean and dry, I laid it on a sheet of white cardstock and rubbed the Blue Hawaii StazOn ink pad over the stars. I love how crisp the stars look! I wanted to add a little bit more texture so I sprayed some Wedding Dress irRESISTible colored Texture Spray on top of several of the blue stars.

Reach for the stars

Once the silver stars were dry, I cut them out and added them for some extra color. I did also cut some blue stars from behind the photo and layered them for effect.

You can see how the texture spray adds dimesion. It's subtle, but so pretty!

Clear Scraps has a huge varitey of both 6" and 12" Mascils. Take a look and give one (or two) a try today!

We belong together- Clear Scraps and Imagine Crafts

Hello! This week at Clear Scraps we are featuring Imagine Crafts! Imagine Crafts has generously supplied the Clear Scraps team with several of their AMAZING products.

To create this card I used an Ornate Send it Clear Card from Clear Scraps as well as Cloudy Sky StazOn Midi as well as touches of the Copper irRESISTible Texture Spray from Imagine Crafts

Here is a detailed image of the Damask on the top portion of the card:

To make this card, I first positioned the 12" Damask Mascil atop of the top two pieces of the Send it Clear Card.

I rubbed/pushed the Cloudy Sky StazOn ink pad over the Mascil. The ink dries almost instantaniously so there is little worry about smudging or bleeding.

Next sprayed a bit of the Copper irRESISTible Texture Spray onto a sheet of scrap paper. ThenI lightly dabbed a paint brush into it and then softly applied a thin coat over the stamped Damask image. It adds just a touch of shimmer which is a nice finishing touch.

I also added the Cloudy Sky ink pad along all the edges to give it some extra dimension.

Imagine Crafts has a wide variety of products to suit all of your crafting needs. Please take some time to take a look at what they have to offer by visiting the Imagine Crafts blog

Lovely- S & P #7

Hi everyone! I have been mia for a bit now, but I am back. For those who don't know, my husband accepted a new job in late May in another state. He left on June 8th, the day after Skylar graduated from high school and I stayed behind to get the house packed and ready to sell. The girls and I left Spokane, WA on July 11th and arrived in Rosenberg, TX on July 15th.

We made a road trip out of it stopping at Devils Tower, WY, Mount Rushmore and Crazy horse in SD and at Carhenge in NE. You will be seeing plenty of photos on scrappy projects in the near future.

We now live in an apartment, which is a huge change from our home, but it really isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I will be sharing my thoughts about this on another post soon.

Onto scrappy things. It's time for challenge #7 on Scrap & Play. This is a mood board challenge, and oddly enough with the popularity of this type of challenge, this was my first ever time creating using one. It's really fun!

Here is my layout:

and here is the mood board:

I was most inspired by the colors and layers on the top left photo, although I did pull in colors and shapes from the other images as well.

The design team totally rocked this challenge! You can see their awesome work here. We'd love to have you join in on the challenge as well- there is a great prize up for grabs, too. Head on over to the Scrap & Play blog to check it out.
