Christmas tree cat

Isn't this table setting wonderful? It's the newest inspirational piece for The Studio Challenge blog

My layout was inspired by the wood grain, burlap, and plaid which most grabbed my attention on this beautiful place setting. I cut some fringe to add some texture and to replicate the tree branches. The goblets inspired the dots, and some burlap stars and gold spray mist added the finishing touches to my layout.

The double layer of fringe adds some wonderful texture and dimension.

hello, snow

It's time for the mid-month sketch at Stuck?! Sketches. I can hardly believe that it's mid-December and 2016 is almost in the books!

here's the fabulous sketch:

I had so much fun creating this layout. I even pulled out some clear glitter-like substance to add some sparkle.

There are a lot of fussy cut details- such as the snowmen, trees, and snowflakes. I suppose the frindge edge would qualify as well.

supplies:
patterned paper and die cuts: Crate Paper
twine: Trendy Twine
silver thread
enamel dots: Simple Stories

There are two wonderful sponsors for this challenge:

One lucky participant will win 2 large pieces of chipboard.

and

Another lucky participant will win a $20.00 gift certificate to their online store.

Head on over to the Stuck?! blog for your chance to enter to win one of these wonderful prizes!

Moose

I haven't been scrapping a lot lately, aside from DT work, and it was fun to create something just for fun.

This layout is inspired by a mood board posted on the Paper Issues facebook Friends and Fans page.

I used a free cut file from Paper Issues and scraps of papers from Crate Paper and Pebbles. I fussy cut a few photos and added them for something different. I like the end result!

ho ho ho

As soon as I saw this sketch from The Memory Nest I had the idea to rotate it and use the center area as a tree. My execution did not go as fully planned (hence the added areas along each side- I greatly misjudged my initial pp and angles. lol). Overall the end result of the tree is pretty cool. I almost hated to cover it up, but I wanted to incorporate all three of the photos.

The tree was created by cutting paper strips and then adding a slight curve along the bottom as well as cutting to create a fringe effect. They were then layered upon each other and then cut to get the desired shape.
I added some clear mist and some enamel dots. I then folded up and smushed some of the fringe for more texture.

be a unicorn

The newest sketch is live at The Memory Nest. Make it Monday No. 77 has so many great possibilities. I pretty much followed the sketch as is.

When Ashlyn had her spinal fusion surgery in September, she wanted to show up in style and this unicorn costume did just the trick. :) Everyone got a good laugh and it helped minimize the enormity of the surgery she was facing.

I used the November kit from Clique Kits for this. The only items not from the kit are the chipboard alphas, mists, and button twine.

Head on over to The Memory Nest blog to see the work from the team and share your take with us!

every day has a story

The Studio Challenges has another wonderful challenge to share. This time it is a sketch challenge. This sketch was based upon the first layout I shared as a team member, fantabulous. It's a classic design and can be used in so many ways.

I fussy cut the circular shapes from the patterned paper and used them as my base.

Some additional fussy cutting along with the mixture of die cuts pulls it all together.

supplies are from the October Clique kit with the exception of the button twine and mists. Sequins are from the November kit.

You have to check out the blog to see the gorgeous work the team created with this sketch!
