HI {card}

This card was created using a Clear Scraps Half Fancy Send it Clear card

I wanted to keep this simple yet inviting, so I used the pretty scallop cut to my advantage by placing minimal embellishments upon it kept most of the design to the inside.

wave dancers

Hi! :) Today I am sharing a layout that I created using the September sketch from 3Birds. I kept this very simple and clean- a huge struggle for me, but I love the end result. If only I could get it to translate on photos to be as pretty as it is irl. It is not crooked, but every image makes it appear so. *sigh*.

Hollyhocks thanks {card} Scrapy Land challenge #2

Hi! It's time for the second challenge on the Scrapy Land blog. This challenge is to incorporate heat embossing to your die cut shape(s).

To create the multi-colored flowers, I cut the Hollyhocks three different times, each using a different color patterned paper; green for the stalks and two pinks. I used the green die as the base and then carefully cut the flowers from the pink papers and adhered them over the green base. I then used a clear ink pad along with clear embossing powder to the flowers (the stems have a bit of heat embossing, but not much as the ink basically stuck to the more raised pink areas).
It was a little work, but well worth the effort!

"thanks" was cut with a white cardstock and heat embossed using clear ink and clear embossing powder. The end result is almost a plastic effect and looks really cool since I didn't use a heavy-weight cardstock.

supplies:
white cardstock
patterned paper and butterfly sticker: Echo Park
blue gelato crayon, twine

Be sure to head on over to the Scrapy Land blog to see the gorgeous work that the designers created for this challenge as well as to enter your card or project for the challenge. ***Please remember that all dies used to create your entry should be dies that can be purchased in the Scrapy Land store. I look forward to seeing what you create!

Carhenge Album

Hi! Clear Scraps has teamed up with Echo Park and today I am sharing a project that I created with the 6" circle acrylic album as well as the Simple Life collection from Echo Park.

On our move down to Texas we planned our trip so we could see a few tourist places. Since we had planned to drive through Nebraska my mom suggested that we stop at Carhenge as it was not too far off the beaten path. My parents had been before and they said it was something different and overall pretty cool.

My mom was right, it was pretty cool. It's in the middle of nowhere and is surrounded by corn fields. We only spent about an hour there, but it was well worth the extra few hours of driving time.

admirations about you S&P #10

It's mid month and that means it's time for another challenge over at Scrap & Play. It's already the 10th challenge, can you believe it?!

In celebration of this being the 10th challenge, your challenge is to create a project with a "top 10" list. This list can be anything. I chose to make a list of ten traits I admire about Ashlyn:

pp and stickers: Simple Stories
wooden button: Curtsey Boutique
twill ribbon from Michael's
button twine: Papertray ink

I am looking forward to seeing your entry for this challenge! Head on over to the blog for the details and more fabulous layouts from the design team. :)

PROM

I created this layout using the September layout sketch at sketches4all. I did tweak it a bit to meet my needs, but that's the beauty of a sketch.

The colors are a bit washed out- the background is more of a light mint green, and the title and sequins are actually silver, but after multiple photos and attempts to get the right coloring, I threw my hands up and decided that this was as good as it was going to get. lol I do like how this coloring provides a bit of a vintage look though.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Check out all the great challenges at the sketches4all site and join in!

Mount Rushmore mini album

Raechelle here sharing an album using a Clear Scraps Mixable Cutie 5.75 x 7 album.

Rushmore album flat

Our family recently took a huge leap of faith and relocated from Spokane Valley, WA to Rosenberg, TX. My husband left a little over a month prior to the girls and I leaving and I was left to pack and get our home ready to sell. I was blessed to have my mother make the drive down with my girls and myself. We decided to make a few stops along the way to make the raod trip a little more fun for all of us. Mount Rushmore was a place we had all wanted to see and it was such a spectacular sight!

Hello cards- Scrappy Land challenge #1

The big day has arrived! Today Scrapy Land kicks off its new challenge blog. There will be a new challenge every other Wednesday and the winner of each challenge will receive a gift certificate to the Scrapy Land store.

The first challenge is an "Anything Goes" challenge using at least one die.

I created a set of cards for this challenge. After I had cut the word hello for my first card an idea came into my head to make another card incorporating the negative space.

Before I sign off, I am sharing another card. This was my original card for this challenge, but I am not all that found of it. It is growing on me a little now, but I still prefer the newer cards I made.

I layered the hello three times, the middle layer is pink.

supplies:
pp: Glitz
doily: Curtsey Boutique
twine, flowers, and vine

Now head on over to the Scrapy Land blog to find out how you can enter your project for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Scrapy Land store. Don't forget to check out the gorgeous work from the design team while you are there.

I look forward to seeing your work!

Good Day Sunshine- S&P #9

It's September. How did that happen? This has been such a busy summer for us with moving and exploring our new surrounding, but I still feel like I blinked and summer is unofficially over. *sigh*

The very best part of this summer for me was to watch Ashlyn enjoy so many of the wonderful moments of the season for the first time in at least six years. While she still tires easily and has to be conscientious as to how she is feeling, she was able to get out there and be as much of a kid as she could. I shed many a happy tear this summer for my beautiful girl.

There is a new challenge up at Scrap & Play. Here is my layout:
